"This is not tutoring, this is academic risk management for math."
Parents do not hire this service because their child "needs help." They hire it because math is a gatekeeper subject, and failure quietly closes doors. If mismanaged, math can creates anxiety that spreads to other subjects and damages confidence at a critical developmental stage. Forces last-minute, expensive, unstructured tutoring.
Parents are not worried about math homework. They are worried about whether their child falls behind and never catches up. This course speaks directly to that fear - calmly, professionally, and without drama.
The Problem
As an educator, I’ve seen a rise in math anxiety, students falling behind during online learning, fast-paced courses, and a lack of personalized support. This course is taught by a certified Ontario math teacher specializing in Grades 11 and 12 and the transition to university. My instructional approach is delivered through screen-sharing and tablet-based teaching, making the experience as personal and interactive as possible. Students will have access to:

-
Short, clear explainer videos
-
Small quizzes
-
Practice tests with full solutions
-
Guided problem-solving walkthroughs
-
Study strategy & math-anxiety support
Our Services
This 1-hour session prepares students for calculus, linear algebra or finite math midterms and finals through a realistic mock exam. Students work through exam-style questions under timed conditions, then review solutions, common mistakes, and key strategies. The focus is on pacing, problem-solving methods, and exam confidence.

FAQ
Is this course only for calculus students?
No. This course is designed for any first-year university student taking math — including Calculus, Pre-Calculus, Linear Algebra foundations, and applied math courses.
While calculus students benefit greatly, the course focuses on:
-
algebra fluency
-
functions and graphs
-
problem-solving strategies
-
test-writing skills used across first-year math
There is also a Western University–specific track aligned with Math 0110, 1228, 1229, and Calculus 1000, so students get both universal math skills and course-specific support.
Will this help if my math foundations are weak?
Yes — this is exactly who the course is built for.
Many first-year students struggle not because they aren’t capable, but because:
-
high-school math foundations are shaky
-
university pacing is much faster
-
expectations are very different
This course rebuilds core foundations (algebra, functions, notation, problem setup) while teaching students how to think through university-level math questions — not just memorize steps.
If math has felt overwhelming or confusing in the past, this course is meant to close the gap before it becomes a crisis.
What if I can’t attend the live sessions?
No problem.
All live sessions are:
-
recorded
-
posted inside the course platform
-
available to rewatch anytime
Students can learn fully at their own pace and still benefit from:
-
structured lesson breakdowns
-
worked examples
-
practice problems
-
exam strategy guidance
Live sessions are a bonus — not a requirement to get value from the course.
Is this course useful for online students?
Absolutely.
But this can be a great tool for those taking in-person lectures.
This course is ideal for online or hybrid students, who often have:
-
less direct access to instructors
-
fewer chances to ask questions
-
limited feedback on their understanding
The course provides:
-
clear explanations beyond lecture slides
-
step-by-step worked solutions
-
structure and accountability that online courses often lack
Many online students find this type of support even more valuable than in-person students.
Can I enroll before I start my first year?
Of course!
This gives you comfort and confidence heading into your first year. Sometimes, for one reason or another, there can be learning gaps in that first year. Here is your chance to fill in those gaps and reduce anxiety!
